Along with this extra screen real estate, Samsung offers a ton of new customization options, including a new dynamic wallpaper, clock faces, and rich notifications. Both the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Fold5 feature a redesigned hinge mechanism that’s much thinner than previous iterations, shrinking both devices when folded.

Despite this sleek new profile, Samsung still equipped both devices with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for the Galaxy – a custom version of the chipset designed specifically for Samsung devices. It’s the same silicon inside the powerful Galaxy S23 Ultra that was also launched last year.
